Accept or decline a quote

This article explains how a client accepts a quote or estimate and what happens in Billdu when they do.

How it works for clients

When you send a quote or estimate to a client via email or online link, they see an Accept Estimate or Accept Quote button in the online document view. The client clicks the button to accept.

What happens when a quote is accepted

  • The document status in Billdu changes to Accepted

  • You receive an email notification

  • You receive a push notification on your mobile device

  • You can then convert the accepted quote into an invoice

Important notes

  • Only the recipient of the document can mark it as accepted - it cannot be done on their behalf

  • The acceptance can only be triggered through the online document link, not inside the Billdu app itself

  • Once accepted, the status cannot be reversed

Declining a quote

Billdu does not have a dedicated decline button for clients. If a quote is declined or no longer relevant, you can leave it as issued, let it expire past its validity date (status changes to Outdated), or delete it.
