What is Stripe?
Stripe is a third-party payment processor that lets your clients pay invoices online by credit or debit card. Once connected, a Pay with Stripe button appears on your invoices automatically.
Stripe handles all payment processing, declines, and refunds - not Billdu
You need a Stripe account to get started - Billdu will help you create one if you don't have one yet
Connect Stripe to Billdu
Go to Settings - Payment options
Select Stripe - Online payments
Read the payment conditions and click Connect with Stripe
You'll be redirected to Stripe's website - sign in to your existing Stripe account or create a new one. Billdu pre-fills your business details to speed up the process
Complete the Stripe setup and return to Billdu
A Pay with Stripe button is now live on your invoices - clients can pay you immediately
Note: Stripe payments are enabled and handled by Stripe, not Billdu. Make sure your business and bank details in your Stripe account are correct before going live.
What your clients can pay with
Depending on where your client is located, the following payment methods are available:
Instant payment methods - confirmed immediately, invoice marked as paid right away:
Credit and debit cards - all countries
Apple Pay / Google Pay - all countries
iDEAL - Netherlands
TWINT - Switzerland
Delayed payment methods - take 1-4 business days to confirm:
ACH Direct Debit - United States
Bacs Direct Debit - United Kingdom
BECS Direct Debit - Australia, New Zealand
SEPA Bank Transfer - EU countries
Note: While a delayed payment is being processed, the invoice status in Billdu shows as Processing Payment. No action is needed - it updates automatically once confirmed.
How long until you get paid?
Stripe has an initial holding period for your first payout to comply with anti-money laundering regulations.
First payout: 7-10 business days after the first payment is received
After the first payout, transfer times depend on your location:
United States and Australia: up to 2 business days
Canada and EU: up to 7 business days
If funds are not showing up in your bank account, check your Stripe Dashboard for the current payout status. Billdu does not control fund transfers.
Stripe transaction fees
Fees are deducted per transaction and depend on your Billdu plan and your country of residence. The Premium plan offers the lowest fees.
