How document limits work

This article explains what limits apply to documents and clients on each Billdu plan, and what happens when you reach them.

Documents - are they limited?

No. All current Billdu plans include unlimited invoices and expenses - there is no cap on how many you can create.

The following document types are also unlimited on Standard and Premium plans:

  • Estimates and quotes

  • Orders

  • Delivery notes

  • Appointments

Clients - what's the limit?

Current plans are limited by the number of clients you can have in your account, not by document count:

Plan

Client limit

Lite

10

Standard

50

Premium

Unlimited

What happens when you reach the client limit?

  • You can upgrade to a higher plan at any time to get more clients - your existing data stays intact

  • You can also delete a client, but be aware that this may affect reports, statistics, and other features that reference that client

Check your current plan and limits

Mobile app

  • Go to Settings

  • Your subscription details are shown under the Subscription section

Website

  • Go to Settings - Subscription

  • Your plan shows as either active or finished, along with the details of your current and previous subscriptions

What if you need more than 3 subscriptions?

Each business in your Billdu account requires its own subscription. If you see a message that you've reached the maximum number of subscriptions:

  • Contact the Billdu support team and tell them which plan and business you need it for, or

  • Go to the Billdu website, switch to the relevant business, and purchase a subscription there directly

On older plans (before June 2021)

If you subscribed before June 2021, your plan may still be based on a document limit rather than a client limit. These older plans had unlimited clients but capped the number of documents you could create:

Old plan

Document limit

Starter

3/month or 30/year

Basic

10/month or 120/year

Standard

25/month or 300-360/year

All old plans included invoices and expenses only. The Standard plan also included all other document types.

If your old plan is still renewing automatically, you can keep it as long as it continues to renew. To switch to unlimited documents, cancel your old plan and purchase a current subscription.
