Setting up and cancelling of online payments - Pay Now button, Stripe, PayPal

Updated over a week ago

Your clients can pay invoices online by credit/debit cards. The payment is handled a 3rd party service, so-called payment processor. We use the service of Stripe and PayPal and you can choose which one to use.

This service allows you to accept card payments through invoices you send to your customers. The payment processor enables, declines, or refunds the payments.

You need an account at Stripe or PayPal to receive payments. If you don't have an account, Billdu will help you to create one.

Payments with Stripe

  • Notifications appear once a payment has been made. You will receive a push-message on your mobile device, in the Notification center on the website

  • You will see an entry in the document history

  • The invoice is automatically marked as paid

  • Transaction fees apply - take a look here

Activate Stripe payments at Settings - Payment options - Stripe payments. You can either create an account at Stripe or you can use an existing one. It will connect to your Billdu account at the end of the process. Find a more detailed description here.

Pay now button on a website and on a mobile device

The Pay Now button doesn't appear in the preview.

Payments with PayPal

Activate PayPal payments at Settings - Payment options - PayPal.

  • PayPal doesn't connect to Billdu but you can receive money on your PayPal account

  • We do not mark invoices as paid and do not send notifications about payments

How to cancel the online payments

Navigate to Settings - Payment options - Stripe/PayPal. Click on the green switch - it turns gray. From now on, the Pay Now button won't be visible on your invoices. You can still log in to your PayPal or Stripe account and manage your payments, but the Pay Now button will disappear from your online invoices - it will, however, stay on PDF invoices you've already sent.
