Add a negative tax (CIS deduction)

If you're a contractor working under the UK's Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), Billdu lets you apply a negative tax rate to reflect CIS deductions on your invoices.

Set up your negative tax rate

  • Go to Settings > Tax settings (VAT settings).

  • Enter a tax amount as a negative value (for example, -20).

  • Save your settings.

Apply it to an invoice

  • Create a new invoice.

  • Add an item.

  • Select your negative tax rate from the tax drop-down list.

Note: This feature is only relevant for UK-based businesses working under CIS.
