Set decimal places and rounding rules

This article explains how decimal places and rounding work in Billdu.

Default behaviour

Billdu shows all amounts with 2 decimal places by default across invoices, the document list, and statistics.

Mobile app

The decimal format is controlled by your device's regional settings, not Billdu's settings directly.

  • iOS: Go to Settings - General - Language & Region - Region to see and change your number format

  • Android: Go to Settings - System to find your regional number format settings

Website

  • Go to Settings - Template design and settings

  • Find Item price rounding

  • Choose 2, 3, or 4 decimal places for item prices

Note: This setting changes decimal places for line item prices only. The Invoice Total, Amount due, and other summary figures are always rounded to 2 decimal places. This setting affects PDF files created or sent from the website and online invoice links.

How rounding works

All totals and VAT amounts are calculated from the sum of individual item net prices. Because of how rounding works mathematically, the overall Total or VAT on an invoice may occasionally differ by ±0.01. This is not an error - it is a standard result of invoice rounding calculations.
